The Editor replies; 'Anico ("Annie") Benes fled from Hungary with her parents in November 1956 when the USSR invaded the country. She was then five years old.
In December 1969, by which time she was a British national, Anico defeated a Mrs. R. Salter of Leeds by a submission and tickle orgasm to one submission at her home town of Huddersfield in what was the UK's first recorded all-nude Tickle Wrestling match.
Mrs. Salter's history is relatively obscure. She competed in only 12 Tickle Wrestling matches as a part-time Tickle Wrestler during a four-year career 1967 and 1971 (winning three). We do know, however, that she was a Leeds-born 28-year-old divorcee who worked as an administration manager for the chemical industry at the time of the historic nude bout. Anico Benes followed a much more glittering path and was a successful Tickle Wrestler for much of the 1970s. However, this almost led to her abduction.
Having Tickle Wrestled mostly in West Yorkshire up to 1970, Anico then moved to the south-east to attend university but continued to participate in the sport in her new home area, usually nude. Her overseas student status allowed her to transfer from the West Yorkshire Area Tickle Wrestling Association to its Sussex equivalent, and despite competing part-time she became Sussex County Champion within 12 months. Her success attracted the attention of the Soviet-backed Hungarian government, which was keen to profit from the positive publicity their former subject's career was generating.
On February 7th 1973, Anico won an all-nude match in Waltham Forest against Tracy Barber of Belper, Derbyshire by two submissions to one. After the contest, five women claiming to be from the East London Area Tickle Wrestling Association asked the venue manageress, Cathy Hunt, for directions to the participants' changing rooms. She explained that there was only one such room, which the girls were sharing, and pointed it out to them before going to the accounts office.
When Tracy's coach, the former Arizona Tickle Wrestler Kay Ellwood, heard about this request she was immediately suspicious - mainly because there was no 'East London Area Tickle Wrestling Association'. (The local organising body represented both North & East London, and still does.) Dashing to the changing room she discovered both girls were missing, although their clothing and belongings were still there. She asked Cathy Hunt for the keys to all the doors in the building and conducted a search. In an unlocked office near to the main exit she found Anico and Tracy, powerless, bound and gagged but still absolutely naked. At around the same time, Cathy saw one of the bogus Tickle Wrestling officials sprint out of a side door, scramble into a grey Morris van and speed away, closely followed by a white Ford Cortina.
It turned out that as Anico and Tracy had padded naked out of the shower, they'd been overpowered by the five women who tied them up and carried them to the office. This room had recently been let to a "Mrs. Jennifer Durrance" who'd claimed to be a director of a Midlands painting and decorating company wishing to establish itself in London. She had not been seen since paying three months rent in advance. It was assumed that 'Mrs. Durrance' was in on what was intended to be the kidnap of Anico by the AVO (Allamvedelmi Osztaly, or Hungarian Secret Police), and Tracy had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time. The woman who drove off in the Morris van probably did so after she saw Kay Ellwood enter the office and found Anico and Tracy bound, gagged and naked. The Ford Cortina was later traced via a car hire company to a fellow-student of Anico's from Bulgaria, another Warsaw Pact country; she was quietly deported from the UK three months later.
Despite this frightening episode, Anico continued to Tickle Wrestle to a high standard and at one point reached No. 9 in the National UK Championship contender ratings before retiring from the sport in 1981 aged 32. She and her parents returned to Hungary in 1990, six months after the Berlin Wall fell. Anico now works as an administrator for the National Tickle Wrestling Association in neighbouring Austria.' "

Well, this is a bit different. Seems like some underhand dealing by the Soviet Union here as they try to get some piece of the action. A bit different from the rest of the entries, in a good way and offers a different look into the world around the sport. Almost a shame we didn't get to see how they planned to convince Anico to go along with the plan though.
